Reckamp-Klehm
I've been collecting the daylilies of Roy Klehm and Brother Charles Reckamp for the last two years. Their daylilies have a certain "glow" that is unmistakable. Once you've seen it you will be able to pick their daylilies out anywhere. I am going to post a few that I've taken pictures of . I haven't been able to get pictures of all of mine because they're so new to my garden. If you google these names you will be able to read some very interesting information, not to mention see beautiful pictures!

Need a boat!
I am not one of those people who complain about the rain. I just don't, I've always loved a rainy day. I am now changing my ways and must complain. Complain to who? No one seems to listen. Today my tractor and I were out trying to do a little gardening in between the mists and actual downpours. There is so much water in the daylily field that if you try and dig anything out the empty hole fills with water. It's just not that much fun. Now we have flash flood warnings, it's a bit scary. I'm going to post some pictures from my yard when I worked in it daily. These pictures are before the Daylily Farm came my way. I do think they show how you can mix lots of different plants for a very pleasing effect. I love the cottage garden look.
This one is Hearts of Fire and grew in my yard before the Daylily Farm. I think you can see it in the next picture |
Orange one might be Paprika Velvet, I always thought it was so bright and pretty |

Perfect gardening weather, finally!
I started putting the "Spacecoast"
dayliles all in one row last fall. I know you will enjoy seeing them growing like this. It makes it much easier to compare them.

Artemio is a great increasing daylily and oh so pretty. I can't wait to see it bloom again this year.

They're growing!

Heavenly Pink Fang, quite a toothy showoff! |
I went out yesterday and saw bits of green growing out of the cold brown earth. It doesn't seem like it would be warm enough for anything to grow, but there they were. We had a very long fall last year and I divided many clumps so that I would be able to dig plants easier for sale. I learned a lesson that I won't forget, just because you can do something doesn't always mean you should! Many of those little plants were pushed out of their cozy home and ended up almost sitting on top of the ground. They were heaved out with the frost I suppose.
I now have to try and push them back in or fill the dirt in around them. I made a decision not to divide and replant after September. I hope I can stick with my new resolution.
Many of my labels were also pushed out also. I wonder if it was just one of those years. I will let you know if any of the plants died from their unexpected heave.
It is such an exciting time of year. The calender says it's spring and it's starting to feel like it.
Enjoy your time with Mother Nature.
Thanks for stopping by my blog,
Theresa

Finally it's Spring!
This was taken last year but I'm sure this bunny will be back again soon to eat my flowers!
I also took this picture last year! This little nest was "nestled" down in a clump of daylilies.
Dancing on Air is an Extra Early blooming daylily, I love this one.
Always Applique is also an Extra Early. Enjoy your frosty first day of SPRING!

6 more days they say...
These pictures didn't get the names added but they aren't mysteries like the ones in the lost and found! They are all named varieties growing at the farm. I can add the names later. I think they are all so pretty, it makes this cold dreary day seem a little brighter!
Take care and enjoy your day,
Theresa
